Styling your home can be extremely daunting, especially if you don’t know where to start. So let’s start with your coffee table!
First, your table will most likely be the center of your living space, so it will need to be practical and something you absolutely love. The coffee table pictured below is from one of my favorite vendors, Fourhands, they create beautiful furniture at a reasonable price and are always on top of the latest design trends.

Below are a few tips for styling coffee tables, these can also be used for buffet tables or consoles:
Think about the overall style you are working towards, use different textures and colors to add dimension to your space, or go for one whole monochromatic look to simplify.
Coffee table books, the name says it all. They can be styled in different areas around the home and easily change out for different seasons or moods. This is probably one of my favorite things to gift clients and friends, there is a niche coffee table book for anything you are interested in.
My hack for practical items... a cute box. The box is for your remotes, extra coasters, and all of those miscellaneous items that are practical to have on your table, but you don’t want the clutter, throw them in the box!
You knew this was coming…. fresh flowers or small house plants are always a great idea. If you have kids or pets, I know this is less practical but they make really amazing silk faux plants and flowers these days so you could always sub out for that.
Add something a little different with either a dynamic object that you love or something personal to make the space uniquely you!

A simple way to style your coffee table
Organize items in a way that makes them look organized or sorted. Square tables are typically easier to style but as you can see in our example, it is just as easy with round coffee tables.
Make sure the scale is right, you don’t want items that are too big or too small for your table, so play with different sizes and scale of items until you get the best combo.
And don’t worry, you might not get it right the first time, you will have to play with it a bit. When styling someone’s home, I move things easily 50 times from various shelves and tables across their house until I get the perfect combination.
The photo and video below show a couple different ways I use the same general principles to style the same table.
Happy styling, Cheers!
