Annie's 2021 Local Gift Guide

Since you all loved last year’s gift guide so much (and I really enjoyed making it), I decided to do another one this year! The list features mostly new local Tampa and St. Pete shops for you to explore, but there a just a couple places you may recognize from last year’s list. I hope this inspires you to buy your holiday gifts from local places this year. The Tampa Bay area is filled with so many incredible makers and small business owners, get out there and explore them all. If you are one of my family members or close friends and you are reading this list, act surprised when you open your gifts this year… 😉

O’Berry’s Succulents

Unique Succulents and Cacti

O’Berry’s first caught my eye when I discovered their handmade miniature planters, but then completely won me over when I saw the large succulent arrangements. The owner, Jamie O’Berry, began propagating succulents in 2010 (propagating sisters!) and has been sharing her love of drought tolerant plants ever since. O’Berry’s also teaches plant craft workshops and hosts plant clipping exchanges. Follow on Instagram for updates.

Invisible Twin

Happy Clay Wares for the Eclectic Home

Kelly’s pieces have been a go-to gift for me. I love giving her modern ceramic art to my friends and clients. She creates unique wall hangings, planters, and candle holders in her College Park studio (I know, not Tampa, but I needed to feature her!). You can shop her pieces directly on her website here!

Follow her on Instagram for updates!

Olfaction

Candles made with clean and sustainable ingredients

I just recently worked with Paige on a custom candle order (yes, we can’t wait to show you guys!) and was instantly obsessed. She creates unique and custom candles using clean and sustainable ingredients to create enticing aromas for your home. You may have seen some of her candles around town, but you can also shop on her site directly or follow along on her instagram for updates. .

Hajarie Home

Boutique Textiles for the Home

We had to talk about Tiffany’s products again this year! Tiffany is designing some seriously beautiful textiles. She begins her process with a simple hand sketch, turns it into a gorgeous digital pattern, then it gets printed on fabrics and even wallpaper! She sells her fabric by the yard and currently makes custom order pillows. You can purchase her designs directly on her site and follow along on Instagram.

Hello Myrrh

Handmade Jewelry

Murlene started her shop in quarantine last year and I found her at the Indie Flea a couple weeks ago. I loved her products so much that I went back to her stand a couple times. She hand makes each piece of jewelry in her home studio in St. Pete and is in love with every single one she makes. Warning, you will want to buy everything on her site. Follow her journey via instagram.

Jug & Bottle Dept.

Local and Unique Provisions

Jug & Bottle Department is Tampa’s premiere bottle shop nestled in the well-fed, well-drank belly of Seminole Heights. Ryan and I are two of those well-fed and well-drank bellies. They specialize in craft beer, unique wine, and specialty foodstuffs you won’t see at run-of-the-mill big box stores or groceries with a focus on products that are locally made. This is truly a go-to spot for me when I need a quick gift, which is why we brought them back to the list this year.

Fun fact: they also have an incredible vegan kitchen, 3 Dot Dash. It is a personal favorite of mine, and if you remember, we gave their bathroom a little facelift a couple years ago…

Myet Protection

Self Defense Tools for Women

Myet Protection was another great discovery at the Indie Flea a couple weeks ago. Myrlande is dedicated to providing the very best and affordable self defense tools to keep you safe. She sells everything from car escape tools, discreet pepper spray, and a ton of cute keychain tools that can help you defend yourself in an unforeseen event. You can buy items directly on her site and follow along on her Instagram where she posts safety tips.

Ashlee Hamon Photography

Vibrant Photography

If you have been following my blog or instagram, you may notice that Ashlee Hamon is one of my best friends and shoots almost all of the photos you see. Ashlee creates vibrant and emotive photography with an experience that is truly unmatched. Gifting someone a photo session with Ashlee will be a gift they can keep for years to come. Check out her portfolio and services on her (new!) website. And be sure to follow along on her instagram, she will let you know about mini sessions or mini mural events.

Katie’s Fine Cookies

Freshly Made Cookies and Doughnuts

If you don’t like spending your time in the kitchen baking like me, then this is perfect. Katie’s Fine Cookies are freshly made and have pick-up locations in St. Pete, Tampa, and Tyrone. I highly suggest the chocolate chunk cookies, they are completely vegan and have a nice finishing salt, the perfect combo of salty and sweet. Order online through her website, or check out her instagram to check where her next stop will be!

Health Mutt

Our Favorite Pet Food & Supplies Store in Tampa

In case you also want to get your pet a treat for the holidays as well, then head over to Health Mutt. Ryan and I have been taking our pets there for years. Everyone in store is very friendly and they have a variety of toys, food, and treats for you to grab for your pet this holiday season. Visit them in Seminole Heights, purchase select products from their online store, or follow along on their instagram.
